Hi, I'm Lisa (she/her)! I'm a board-certified eating disorder specialized registered dietitian nutritionist passionate about helping religious trauma survivors with their nutrition challenges.

My journey into this work is personal. In middle and high school, my own unhealthy relationship with food, exercise, and my body made me very sick. A dietitian helped change my life—and since 2017, I've been pursuing this path to help others who are struggling. Somewhere along the way I noted a connection between my own religious trauma and eating disorder struggle, and now I have a special interest in helping religious trauma survivors specifically.

I've provided nutrition therapy across multiple levels of care—from the highest levels of eating disorder care inpatient and residential to PHP and virtual outpatient settings. I've worked with many clients with diverse backgrounds and complex trauma histories over the years.

I know that dietitians are notorious for being the food police. We have the potential to further exacerbate guilt and shame with eating, exercise, weight, and body image. It is my mission to create a safe space for you in every session—where you feel a non-judgmental, compassionate, and empowering presence supporting and guiding you in your nutritional wellness journey.

I provide compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based nutrition therapy dedicated to honoring your complex relationship with food, movement, and your body welcoming all gender identities, sexual orientations, and self-expressions. I will guide you through evidence-based strategies to help you access your own inner wisdom and provide assistance where you get stuck. Whether you are underweight, in a larger body, or anywhere in between, I welcome the opportunity to help you achieve your goals.

When working with eating disorders, I use CBT-E (Enhanced Cognitive Behavior Therapy) - the leading evidence-based treatment for eating disorders in adult outpatient care- in my dietitian scope of practice, helping to ground my work as evidence-based . I highly value collaborating with other mental health and medical providers as needed to provide clients the best care. My counseling style is inspired by Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well.

My training includes:

  • Master's degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion (Eating Disorder Concentration)

  • Dietetic internship (eating disorders, sports nutrition)

  • Trauma -informed experience

    • Working in eating disorder higher level of care treatment centers (PHP, residential, inpatient)

    • Graduate school

    • Religious Trauma Institute Trainings

      • Religious Trauma and the Nervous System
